Hi, I'm Christie! It's nice to "meet" you.
There is no question that I came into this world a sensitive soul. Whether it was being sensitive to foods, fabrics, people and smells or being highly emotionally open and aware of other people’s feelings, I have always experienced life deeply. Growing up I felt that I was different and that there was something "wrong with me." I did not know at the time that 20% of the population is actually highly sensitive and that sensitivity is a beautiful gift.
In addition to being highly sensitive and an emotional empath (I feel the feeling of others), I have struggled with anxiety and chronic health issues most of my life. When I tried to get help my doctors didn't think I looked "sick" and dismissed my concerns, but I knew that this wasn’t how I was supposed to feel. Thankfully, I found yoga and began to look at my body and my health from a more holistic perspective. The more natural remedies I found to create wellbeing in my sensitive body, the more I wanted to share what I had learned with others. In 2008 I graduated as yoga teacher and began to find my voice out in the world. In 2010, I graduated as a holistic health coach and began my coaching practice. In 2014 I graduated from the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, which was key in helping me learn the importance of slowing down and relaxing into life. In 2016 I published my first book, Empowering the Sensitive Soul. I continue to learn more each day about what it takes to thrive in a sensitive body so that I can share my healing light with others.
Because health and wellbeing has not come naturally to me, I am able to speak to the experience of physical and mental struggle with honest, first hand experience. There is nothing I enjoy more than working with other sensitive souls to help them learn to nurture their sensitive body, learn to accept themselves for who they are and follow a plan to be in the world with confidence. I am honored that I am able to offer the support that I had needed so very much when I was younger. I am a kind, empathetic and encouraging coach who will work with you though your struggles and support you in making lasting positive changes, one step at a time.
