Being sensitive in an insensitive world can come with many challenges. As a particularly sensitive soul, I know these challenges deeply. I spent many years of my life in a constant state of stress and anxiety, and I did not trust myself, my body or life. I absorbed everyone else's issues and did not know how to stand in my power and believe in myself.
My personal journey to empowered sensitivity wasn't easy. But no matter what I went through (chronic illness, anxiety, depression, nervous system dysregulation, trauma and more), I never let it stop me from working to achieve my vision of being both sensitive and strong. I knew deep down that I wasn't meant to live this way and I wasn't going to stop until I found my own power. I believe I was meant to go through these challenges because through the process of healing and empowering myself, I have developed the unique gifts and perspective to guide others on their own healing journey.
I am an Experienced Registered Yoga Instructor (E-RYT, YACEP), Certified Holistic Health Coach and Certified Mindbody Eating Coach. I am also the Award-Winning Author of Empowering the Sensitive Soul. I've spent almost two decades gathering the best tools to help sensitive souls find their strength and I want to share them with you!
My Yoga Journey
I remember falling in love with yoga the first time I practiced. I felt a bit uncomfortable at first learning the different postures, but during the final relaxation pose, called Savasana, I experienced a wonderful sense of peace that was foreign to me. Laying on my back resting, I felt an ease that was often elusive to my anxiety prone HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) brain. I knew yoga was for me after my first class back in 2006 and it has been a major part of my life both personally and professionally ever since.
In 2007 my passion for yoga solidified while volunteering and living at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in the Berkshires. In 2008, I trained on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica at the Nosara Yoga Institute with Don and Amba Stapleton and quickly found that I shined in the seat of the teacher. I have also been strongly influenced by master teachers Barbara Benagh, Kate Greer, Simon Park and Judith Hanson Lasater and I have trained in Prenatal Yoga, Relax and Renew Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Kids Yoga, Prana Flow and JourneyDance. My classes will encourage you to listen to your body, move with intention and honor your sensitivity.
I offer live private and public yoga classes via Zoom as well as on-demand classes and a monthly membership. I am delighted to be able to use my knowledge as a coach, combined with my yoga teaching to create an online yoga studio designed perfectly for highly sensitive people.
